Baby left alone in hot car
Parents are being warned not to leave young children in cars after a “semi-cooked” seven week old baby was rushed to hospital with dehydration on Wednesday.

A woman is to be charged with wilfully neglecting a child after she allegedly left the seven week old girl unattended in a hot car for more than an hour in over 300C temperatures.

Police said a woman by passer noticed the child “crying and distressed” about 1pm and broke into the car.

The woman took the child to the police station where she was taken to the local Area Hospital.

A spokesperson from the hospital said the child was “semi cooked” with a temperature of 38.5ºC and needed immediate rehydration.
